TOTAL RUGBY CAMPS

AS ALWAYS TRC STRIVES TO IMPROVE THE TRC CAMP EXPERIENCE - NEW FOR 08!

Total Rugby Camps will continue to provide participants, regardless of code played, with a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to evolve and improve the generic skills and techniques needed to succeed in today’s competitive Rugby environment.

These action-packed Total Rugby Camps will offer boys and girls between the ages of 8-18 the chance to develop their games under the instruction of the country’s top RFU & RFL qualified coaches. The camps will be delivered under each code's prospective quality assurance framework, ensuring that the quality of coaching is second to none. The venue for the camp will be the state of the art Hopwood Hall Sports Academy Complex, which contains some of the most up to date and prestigious sporting facilities available nationally; all of which will be incorporated into the programme.

Hopwood Hall

The programme is holistic in terms of complete player development, and combines proven best practice coaching principals with a fun and enjoyable atmosphere. The programme aims to provide players with the best opportunity to progress in terms of technical, tactical and physical development, utilising techniques from other sports such as Basket Ball and Boxing. The Total Rugby Camp concept will also include sessions focusing on techniques unique to each code such as defence, marker play, kicking, rucking , mauling and scrummaging

Each coach participating in Total Rugby Camps programme will have undertaken a Child Protection Awareness Programme and completed an Enhanced CRB Disclosure. Each coach will also be fully aware of responsibilities relating to the pastoral welfare of all young people who attend the course, and will be confident and competent in managing all situations which may arise. We will also have a youth worker situated at each venue to ensure that every child’s well being is a top priority.

Also, we recognise as a priority, our responsibility to ensure the safety and well being of all participants in Total Rugby Camps. There will be designated medical professionals at each Total Rugby Camp with responsibility for first aid and dealing with any injuries and incidents which may occur. All participants will be grouped according to age range and ability. This division aims to ensure that situations do not arise where children are mismatched physically, and therefore lessen the risk.

All participants will receive branded apparel, rugby ball, certificates and more importantly a personal coaching development plan, based up on their performance over the three day camp. Our sponsors 'KOOGA' will provide players for guest appearances.

clive woodward"The essence of the game is about handling and passing not contact. That should be a secondary skill, not a primary one. We won the world cup by having players who were fantastic passers of the ball. Precious few Rugby Union players are taught how to pass properly. The RFU has only just begun teaching it in its junior national academy using a former league player."

To Whom?

Parents who are also desperate to find positive activities, during school holidays, for their children.

NEW FOR 2008
WRESTLING FOR RUGBY!

Wrestling for rugby is not a new concept, many teams have adopted wrestling as a way to improve performance on the field. Wrestling doesn’t only benefit the elite but offers a great deal to young players. Since fundamentally wrestling techniques provide basic skill movements, which are transferable onto the pitch.
