CROSS TRAINING FOR
RUGBY SUCCESS!

At Total Rugby Camps we train for both Rugby League and Rugby Union. The reason we do this is simple, although the rules of the games differ, the skills and techniques used to play the games are fundamentally the same. Technique, speed, agility and the ability to think quickly to out manoeuvre the opposition are the keystones of great rugby.

Cross training helps us to develop your rugby skills using other disciplines such as boxing, wrestling, basket ball and judo. A basic understanding of each of these sports can help to give you a distinct advantage on the rugby pitch.

Whether it's the manoeuvrability of a basketball player, the balance and control of judo or the discipline and agility of a boxer you will find that these skills are invaluable in every game.

NEW FOR 2008
WRESTLING FOR RUGBY...

Wrestling for rugby is not a new concept, many teams have adopted wrestling as a way to improve performance on the field. Wrestling doesn’t only benefit the elite but offers a great deal to young players. Since fundamentally wrestling techniques provide basic skill movements, which are transferable onto the pitch.

JUDO FOR RUGBY...

Using Judo as a cross training method is not a new concept throughout the world, but over the last couple of years it has been adopted by British teams including Wigan and Bradford. These rugby giants were in no doubt that judo skills could improve the performance of their squads.

ARMY TRAINING FOR RUGBY...

Total Rugby Camps have also partnered with the Army who will be providing team building and communication sessions. The Army activities, while fun, are also designed to develop skills and qualities that will translate into improved rugby performance.
